Incorporating blogging into the learning environment can help to expand the knowledge and skills of learners in impactful ways. Blogs can be used as a way for learners to share ideas and reflect on the learning process. Learners can interact with one another through commenting on blog posts and sharing more information pertaining to the learning, (Abdul Kadir & Tasir, 2020). Blogging also has the potential of exposing learners to more diverse viewpoints while also enhancing writing and thinking skills, (Ellison & Wu, 2008). With my background in art education, I have found that when learners are given more choice, they have a higher rate of engagement in their learning. Through blogging, learners have the opportunity to showcase their individuality and creativity as they decide on how to design their blogs and what information to share.
Resources:
Wix.com and Wordpress.com are two blogging platforms that are easy and free to use.
Canva.com is an online graphic design tool that can be a great additional resource for any blog.
